Jordan Sekulow tells Newsmax: Trump being treated unfairly as if he were a ‘murderer’

Jordan Sekulow, executive director of the American Center for Law & Justice, told Newsmax on Tuesday that a judge’s decision to prevent former President Donald Trump from attending his son’s high school graduation indicates that Trump is being “treated like a murderer.”

New York State Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan on Monday declared that Trump will not be allowed to attend his son Barron’s high school graduation on May 17. Sekulow noted the rarity of a judge denying such a request for a non-violent offense.

“I think this clearly demonstrates the partisan bias and the malicious intent behind the use of the legal system – what we call lawfare – to hinder President Trump’s campaign efforts and force him to spend millions of his own or RNC’s money defending himself,” Sekulow stated on “Wake Up America.”

The case against Trump revolves around allegations that he directed his lawyer at the time to make payments to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal in exchange for their silence on affairs he denies. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has accused Trump of falsifying business records to hide the payments.

“This is election interference at its core,” Sekulow emphasized.
