Lara Trump Says Americans Have Voiced Their Opinion Through Their Wallets Following Verdict
After the guilty verdict this week, Americans have contributed over $70 million to Republican and Trump campaign funds, which could potentially be used for Trump’s legal fees or to defeat his political opponents, Lara Trump stated.
“The American people have made their voices heard by donating generously, even during tough economic times caused by Joe Biden’s policies,” Lara Trump, co-chair of the Republican National Committee, said during an interview with CNN’s “State of the Union” host Kasie Hunt.
In just 48 hours after the verdict, the campaign and RNC raised $70 million through digital fundraising, with 30% coming from first-time Trump donors, according to Lara Trump.
She expressed concern about the unfair treatment of Donald Trump and the lack of trust in the judicial system, emphasizing that the case against him would never have happened if he was not the former president.
When asked about how the funds will be utilized, Lara Trump mentioned that donors have the option to contribute to the Trump legal fund voluntarily.
Regarding the possibility of using the money for legal battles or campaign purposes, Lara Trump stated that decisions will be made based on future needs, with a focus on ensuring justice prevails.
Despite facing challenges, Lara Trump remains confident that Trump supporters will protest by voting on Nov. 5, emphasizing the importance of remaining calm and expressing their views through ballots.
She acknowledged the need for contingency plans in case of potential sentencing of Donald Trump to prison or house arrest before the nominating convention, highlighting the unpredictability of the situation.
Lara Trump concluded by emphasizing the need to be prepared for any outcome and the importance of standing firm in support of Donald Trump.
