Long Island Serial Killer Suspect Arrested; Biden Admin Forgives $39 Billion in Student Loans

Officials in New York’s Long Island on July 14 arrested a suspect in connection with the Gilgo Beach serial killer case, authorities confirmed, as police sources have revealed the name of the alleged killer. In 2010 and 2011, officials found 11 sets of human remains along a beach highway in what was believed to be the work of a serial killer, sending shockwaves throughout Long Island. Previously, police said that some of the slain victims who were identified were possibly working as prostitutes or escorts via Craigslist.

The Biden administration announced a $39 billion student loan forgiveness plan for 804,000 borrowers as part of fixes in “administrative failures” that had held up relief for borrowers under their income-driven repayment plans. The decision comes after the Supreme Court voted last month to strike down the White House’s plan.

The House passed a sweeping annual defense bill that includes GOP-led amendments to restrict abortion coverage and transgender procedures, and eliminate diversity initiatives at the Pentagon.
