Low Levels of Support for DeSantis Among Women Revealed in Economist/YouGov Poll
A survey conducted by The Economist and YouGov revealed that only 13% of Republican women in Florida support Governor Ron DeSantis for the GOP presidential nomination. Former President Donald Trump leads among women with 55% backing him. Vivek Ramaswamy comes in third place with 5% support. Among male Republicans, DeSantis’s support is higher at 21%, but Trump still leads with 55% support. The only subgroup where DeSantis performs better than males is among “urban” Republicans, with 25% support. This poll adds to the evidence that DeSantis has limited support among women. Previous actions by his administration in Florida, such as pushing for a six-week abortion ban and legislation against permanent alimony in divorce agreements, may have contributed to this lack of support. The survey was conducted among 262 Republican women and has a margin of error of approximately 3%.
