Manhattan DA Requests Gag Order in Trump’s Hush-money Case Ahead of Trial Next Month
Prosecutors in Donald Trump’s New York hush-money criminal case requested a gag order on the former president on Monday, citing his history of making inflammatory public remarks about individuals involved in his legal cases.
The Manhattan district attorney’s office asked for Trump to be prohibited from making or instructing others to make public statements concerning potential witnesses, potential jurors, and members of the prosecution team and their families, except for District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
Jury selection for the case is set to start on March 25. Judge Juan Manuel Merchan did not make an immediate decision. Attempts to get a comment from Trump’s legal team were unsuccessful.
