Matthew Whitaker predicts that the Cohen cross examination will conclude “with a flurry,” he tells Newsmax.
Matthew Whitaker, former acting Attorney General, predicts that Donald Trump’s legal team will conclude their cross-examination of key witness Michael Cohen with a strong finish in the ex-president’s criminal business records trial.
During an appearance on Newsmax’s “American Agenda,” Whitaker stated, “The defense is going to have three days to prepare, to go back through every piece of testimony, every bit of what he said, in every book that he slammed Trump, every podcast, wherever he spoke out, TikTok, and I think they’ll finish with a flurry.”
Whitaker emphasized the importance of the cross-examination in proving that Cohen, a convicted perjurer, continues to lie to the jury for personal gain.
Trump’s lawyers extensively questioned Cohen on various topics, including his previous lies under oath, his 2018 guilty plea on tax charges, his White House ambitions, and discussions about a pardon from Trump.
