Mike Huckabee urges Newsmax viewers to remove their children from colleges with antisemitic beliefs

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee sharply criticized prestigious American universities, condemning their tolerance of anti-Israel protests and urging parents to withdraw their children from antisemitic colleges.

Speaking to Newsmax Tuesday, Huckabee advised parents to take their children out of institutions like Columbia University, NYU, and Yale, accusing them of promoting hooliganism and ignorance.

“If I were a parent, I’d tell my kid to pack up and come home. You’re not staying another night at Columbia University, NYU, or Yale. I’m not paying $90,000 a year for you to learn how to be a hooligan,” he stated on the “Chris Salcedo Show.”

Huckabee’s remarks coincide with recent disruptions on college campuses, including canceled classes at Columbia University, arrests at New York University and Yale University, and restricted access at Harvard.

“Even though they’re in elite schools, they’re not receiving a good education because if they were, they wouldn’t align themselves with Hamas,” he added.

Citing high tuition costs, Huckabee criticized parents for funding an environment he deemed detrimental to academic development.

“I’m not paying $90,000 a year,” he emphasized. “You can come home, and I’ll teach you for much less than that… I don’t understand why parents are tolerating it. They should pull their kids out, and if they leave them there, they deserve the consequences.”

Huckabee emphasized that while the First Amendment protects free speech, it does not give individuals the right to suppress others. He distinguished between the freedom to protest and impeding others from expressing themselves freely.

“The First Amendment guarantees free speech, but it doesn’t allow you to silence others,” Huckabee stressed. “You can protest, but you can’t obstruct others’ movement.”

Proposing drastic action to address what he viewed as a lack of appreciation for American democratic values among students, Huckabee suggested sending them to conflict-affected regions abroad.

“Many of these students should be placed in foreign study programs involuntarily,” he suggested. “Load them onto a charter plane and fly them to Gaza.”

“Don’t forget to bring your rainbow flags and bikinis because we want you to experience the world you’re advocating for. Live in that culture for a while. Keep us updated, maybe on social media. Tell us how wonderful it is and how bad America is. We’d love to hear from you,” he concluded.
