Pompeo Supports WSJ Article on Biden’s Mental Decline
Secretary of State and former CIA director Mike Pompeo expressed concern over a report by the Wall Street Journal regarding President Joe Biden’s declining cognitive state.
According to the Journal, high-ranking congressional lawmakers have noticed Biden’s cognitive decline, citing instances where he relies on cheat sheets and has appeared drowsy during meetings.
Pompeo, speaking on Fox News, stated that President Biden, at 81 years old, has shown signs that “his faculties are not all with him.”
“We can see it in how he interacts with people, in how he struggles with a teleprompter, basic skills that every leader should possess,” Pompeo remarked. “There is a genuine risk presented by his mental state, especially in dealing with foreign adversaries like China, North Korea, Russia, and Iran.”
Pompeo emphasized that Biden’s mental acuity is crucial for America’s security, and warned that foreign leaders have already taken notice of his struggles.
Despite Pompeo’s concerns, Democrats defended Biden, with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senators Jack Reed and Patty Murray disputing the Journal’s report.
