Rep. Ben Cline Tells Newsmax that Schumer Cannot Ignore Border Outrage
In a Saturday interview on Newsmax, Rep. Ben Cline, R-Va., stated that the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, while unsuccessful, was necessary due to ongoing public outrage over the Biden Administration’s border policy.
Speaking on “America Right Now,” Cline stressed the importance of impeaching Mayorkas, accusing him of breaking laws and public trust, and highlighting the American people’s dissatisfaction that cannot be dismissed by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
Cline argued that Mayorkas’ actions justified impeachment for alleged law violations and breach of public trust, even in the face of Schumer’s opposition to using impeachment for policy differences.
He drew comparisons to other hypothetical scenarios involving federal officials and emphasized the impact of fentanyl, crime, and human trafficking on American communities, placing responsibility on Mayorkas and President Biden.
Despite challenges in passing border policy changes through Congress, Cline affirmed efforts to address these issues through legislative means, including attaching border policy changes to appropriations bills.
