Rep. Clyde: Amendments Would Put an End to Trump Prosecutions, He Tells Newsmax
Rep. Andrew Clyde, a Republican representative from Georgia, is proposing two amendments to an appropriations bill that would defund the prosecution efforts against former President Donald Trump. If enacted, the amendments would defund special counsel Jack Smith, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ prosecutions. Clyde believes that his proposals have a chance of passing and aims to prevent any federal or state prosecution of a presidential candidate prior to the 2024 election. The proposed amendments directly affect funding to the Justice Department.
