Rep. Mast believes Trump is the Patton-like leader required to address military problems
The U.S. military under the Biden administration has put a lot of emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, according to Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla. He said it requires strong leadership like Gen. George Patton to make a change, speaking to Newsmax on Monday.
Mast, a military veteran who received several honors during his service, mentioned that the only person who resembles Patton in recent times is former President Donald Trump.
Mast emphasized the need for a winning mentality in the military, similar to what Patton advocated for before the Allied invasion of France in 1944. He expressed concerns that the military has strayed from this ideal and sees Trump as the only figure who embodies Patton’s spirit in modern times.
Mast criticized the Biden administration’s focus on DEI initiatives across federal agencies, suggesting that it could lead to a restructuring that favors certain ideologies over others.
