Representative Boebert undergoes Emergency Surgery for Leg Blood Clot

Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert recently underwent emergency surgery to remove a blood clot and was diagnosed with May-Thurner syndrome, as reported by the New York Post.

After experiencing significant swelling in her upper left leg, Boebert sought medical attention and underwent a CT scan, revealing the presence of an acute blood clot and May-Thurner Syndrome, a rare condition that affects blood flow, as stated in a Facebook announcement from her campaign.

Surgery was performed to remove the clot and insert a stent to restore proper blood flow by opening the obstructed vein.

Doctors informed CBS News Colorado that Boebert is expected to fully recover, emphasizing that individuals with May-Thurner syndrome who undergo this procedure are typically able to resume normal activities after a brief recovery period.

Expressing gratitude for the care she received and eager for a full recovery, Boebert looks forward to returning to Congress to advocate for Colorado.

While the exact cause of Boebert’s diagnosis remains unclear, her campaign mentioned that factors such as dehydration, travel, and prolonged sitting could have played a role.

There is no set timeline for Boebert’s return to Washington, D.C., as she continues her campaign for Colorado’s 4th District seat in the upcoming November election.
