Robert F. Kennedy Jr. tells Newsmax that Israel must continue fighting and requires full support from the United States
Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has a long-standing anti-war stance. In an interview with Newsmax on Thursday, Kennedy emphasized the importance of fully supporting Israel in its efforts to eradicate Iranian-backed Hamas in the Gaza Strip and rescue hostages taken in the Oct. 7 terrorist attack.
“We need to support Israel in this defensive war,” Kennedy stated on “The Record With Great Van Susteren.” “Israel was attacked, and I stand against war. This war is different because it is a moral war – Israel was under attack by Hamas for 16 years prior to the Oct. 7 incident.”
Kennedy, while expressing support for Palestinians, criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and called for the removal of Hamas, which has been in power in Gaza since 2006.
“Hamas is a corrupt regime,” Kennedy explained. “Its leaders have embezzled billions meant for the Palestinian people, instead using it for weaponry and attacking Israel. Israel needs our support in confronting Hamas.”
To address the situation, Kennedy proposed working with international partners such as Egypt, Turkey, Russia, China, members of the Abraham Accords, and the U.N. Security Council to isolate and deal with Hamas.
“Israel has been left with no choice but to resort to violence due to lack of support and isolation,” Kennedy emphasized. “In order for Palestinians to have a prosperous future, Hamas must be removed.”
