San Francisco Restaurant Refuses to Serve Armed Police Officers
Reem’s California, a restaurant in San Francisco, announced that it will not serve armed police officers. The restaurant has a policy of not allowing customers to bring firearms into the establishment. Reem’s stated that this policy is intended to keep guns out of the restaurant for the safety of its employees. The San Francisco police officers union criticized the policy, claiming that one of their officers was denied service because he was in uniform. The union argued that if the restaurant is going to have discriminatory policies, they should be posted publicly so that potential customers can make informed decisions.
