Senator Cruz tells Newsmax that there won’t be a conviction for Mayorkas in the Senate
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, told Newsmax that a conviction for Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ impeachment wouldn’t pass in the Democrat-led Senate.
Mayorkas “is not going to be convicted in the Senate,” Cruz said on “Eric Bolling: The Balance.”
“Unfortunately, because the Senate Democrats have party line one after the other, consistently voted in favor of open borders — voted against doing anything to solve this problem. That being said, I am very glad the House is moving forward with impeachment.”
The senator from Texas went on to say that Mayorkas, by any other inference, is intentionally pushing for illegal immigration.
“He is flouting the law,” Cruz added, “and he is not trying to stop illegal immigration. He’s not trying to secure the border. He’s trying to accelerate illegal immigration he wants more people coming.”
