Steele, Former RNC Chair, Calms Controversy Surrounding McConnell
Former Republican National Committee Chair Michael Steele is dismissing concerns about the health and leadership of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, saying that it will not make a difference. Steele also includes Sen. Dianne Feinstein and President Joe Biden in this argument, calling criticism of their leadership just “political noise.” Steele made these comments following McConnell’s recent freeze-up during a press conference and the news that some Senate Republicans are considering a special meeting to potentially remove McConnell from his position. Steele argues that if the people of Kentucky are concerned about McConnell’s health, they will make that decision themselves. Despite McConnell being cleared to return to work, Steele believes that the calls for his removal will not affect his position. He also finds it amusing that younger individuals are criticizing older politicians, as they will likely do the same when they reach that age.
