Survey Shows Majority of Americans Rely on Each Paycheck

The recent findings of a new poll reveal that the majority of Americans are struggling to make ends meet, living from one paycheck to the next.

As per a recently released NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ poll, 58% of registered voters are facing challenges affording basic necessities such as housing, food, health, and transportation, with no money left over.

This poll comes in the midst of an election year, with President Joe Biden championing the idea of a flourishing economy in the United States.

In an interview with CNN on May 8, Biden acknowledged the positive state of the economy but noted that many Americans do not perceive it that way.

Despite Biden’s assertions, the poll revealed that 58% of respondents disapproved of his leadership, while 92% expressed concerns about inflation.

Economist Peter St Onge criticized Biden’s job numbers, calling them “fake” and pointing out discrepancies in the jobs reports.

With the election approaching, economic issues have taken the forefront, with registered voters expressing a desire to hear more about the economy in the upcoming debates between Biden and former President Donald Trump.

The poll surveyed 1,000 registered voters online from May 28-29, with a margin of error of ± 2.9 percentage points for the paycheck-to-paycheck question and ± 3 percentage points for questions regarding Biden’s job performance and inflation.
