Trump Agrees with Christie on Haley at Iowa Town Hall
Former President Donald Trump began his town hall in Des Moines on Wednesday, discussing Chris Christie suspending his campaign. He highlighted the big story being the former New Jersey governor getting caught on a hot mic saying Nikki Haley was going to get “smoked” in the GOP primary.
The town hall took place five days before Iowa’s caucuses on Monday, which mark the beginning of the GOP primary season.
“The biggest story wasn’t the fact that he dropped out,” Trump told moderators Brett Baier and Martha MacCallum of Fox News. “He had a hot mic, and he was talking to somebody about the weather and happened to say [Haley] doesn’t have what it takes she’ll be creamed in the [primary] election.
“I know her well and happen to believe Chris Christie is right. That’s one of the few things he has been right about actually.”
