Trump Claims House Jan. 6 Documents Destroyed, Alarming Revelations Emerge
Former President Donald Trump has accused the Democrat-led Jan. 6 House Select Committee of illegally destroying records and documents. Trump made the claim in a post on Truth Social, stating that the committee had unlawfully destroyed their records and documents. He argued that this is unthinkable and called for the withdrawal of the “Fake Political Indictment” against him. Rep. Barry Loudermilk, chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight for the Committee on House Administration, revealed that the committee failed to adequately preserve key information, such as videos, data, and documents. Loudermilk stated that the committee’s focus was on blaming Trump rather than investigating security failures at the Capitol. Trump pleaded not guilty to charges of leading a criminal conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election. He has also been charged with mishandling classified documents after leaving office. Prosecutors argued that a recent social media post from Trump suggested he might intimidate witnesses by improperly disclosing confidential evidence. Despite this, Trump vowed to continue discussing his criminal cases, while prosecutors sought a protective order to limit the evidence he and his team could share.
