Trump: Final Indictment Required to Secure Victory
Former President Donald Trump, who recently pleaded not guilty to charges related to conspiracy in the 2020 election, claimed in a speech that “one more indictment” will secure his 2024 presidential victory. Speaking at the Alabama Republican Party Summer Dinner, Trump stated that each time an indictment is filed against him, his popularity in the polls increases. He criticized the prosecution, calling them liars, and accused them of waiting until he became a dominant force in the polls to file charges. Trump has already been charged in two other indictments this year, one in New York related to hush money payments and another in connection with document storage at his Mar-a-Lago estate. A fourth indictment is expected in Georgia concerning allegations of attempts to overturn the 2020 election. Despite the legal concerns, Trump still maintains a strong lead in GOP primary polls, with about 53% support. He attributed the indictments to the “radical left” and their hatred towards him due to his victory over Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election.
