Trump’s Lead Over Biden Increases in Latest Rasmussen Poll
According to a recent poll, former President Donald Trump has extended his lead over President Joe Biden in a potential 2024 election matchup. The poll, conducted by Rasmussen Reports, indicates that 46% of likely U.S. voters would support Trump, while 36% would vote for Biden, and 9% would back RFK Jr. in a three-way contest. In a five-way match, which includes Green Party candidate Jill Stein and former Harvard professor Cornel West, Trump leads with 48% of the vote.
Back in April, Trump had a 6-point lead over Biden, with RFK Jr. at 10%, as noted by Rasmussen Reports. This latest poll was conducted while Trump was facing a fraud trial in New York City.
Other key findings from the poll include:
- 71% of voters are excited about the 2024 presidential election, with 47% very excited.
- 60% of Republicans are very excited compared to 50% of Biden voters.
- Trump leads among GOP voters, while Biden has the support of 70% of Democrats.
- Among unaffiliated voters, Trump leads with 44%, followed by Biden at 26%, and RFK Jr. at 15%.
- Trump performs well among different demographics, winning support from white voters, black voters, Hispanics, and other minorities.
- RFK Jr. does best among Hispanics and other minorities.
- Conservative voters are more excited about the election compared to liberals or moderates.
- Moderate voters are more likely to support RFK Jr. in the election.
The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
