Whitaker Urges Newsmax to Consider Asset Seizure as a Strategy to Increase Trump’s Influence
If prosecutors begin to seize Donald Trump’s properties next week, former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker believes it will only strengthen the former president’s influence.
New York Attorney General Letitia James has indicated her intention to seize some of Trump’s assets, although the timeline for this action remains uncertain. James’ office has not provided details on its plans.
During an appearance on Newsmax’s “Saturday Report,” Whitaker expressed his concerns about the potential consequences of seizing Trump’s properties. He suggested that James should wait for the case to progress through the appeals court before taking any action.
Whitaker also accused James of engaging in “election interference” by keeping Trump entangled in legal conflicts to prevent him from participating in political campaigns.
Trump, in response to the $454 million judgment against him in New York, stated that he would use his cash reserves for his presidential campaign. He vowed to challenge the verdict, even up to the U.S. Supreme Court if necessary.
