Biden’s 37 Commutations of Death Row Sentences: Correspondence
The Issue: President Joe Biden commuting 37 out of 40 federal death-row inmates’ sentences.
President Biden’s choice to commute the death sentences of 37 of the 40 inmates on federal death row is not only objectionable but also raises questions about the validity of his reasoning (“Mercy for killers,” Dec. 24).
Biden cited his absolute opposition to the death penalty as the basis for this action.
However, he excluded three death-row inmates from his decision.
He cannot maintain contradictory positions.
By omitting those three inmates, he undermines his own rationale.

Biden continues to undermine our society by commuting the sentences of 37 death row inmates.
The individuals had the benefit of a trial.
Biden demonstrates his disregard for our judicial system, acting as though he supersedes juries and judges.
Civilized societies can only lament this perversion of Biden’s concept of “justice.”
What about justice for the rest of us?
We face the prospect of being affected by the actions of these dangerous individuals if they are released.
Biden is likely to be remembered as a detractor of fundamental principles.

While it’s a relief that three of the most heinous criminals were not included, I am nonetheless disheartened by Biden’s decision to commute the sentences of 37 killers.
He has seized control of justice from the judges and juries who deemed these individuals’ crimes serious enough to warrant the death penalty.

Is there a specific reason why President Biden chose to commute the sentences of 37 murderers, rapists, and child-abusers on federal death row just two days before Christmas?
Couldn’t he have waited until after the New Year to avoid harming the holiday season for the victims’ families?

President Biden seems intent on wrecking the country before he leaves office.
While I do not support the death penalty, it is our existing law.
For some of these individuals, their sentences should not have been commuted.

The Issue: Chris Cillizza’s admission regarding his failure to address President Biden’s mental decline at CNN.
Chris Cillizza’s admission signifies a long-awaited apology from the media. It also highlights the deterioration of journalistic ethics that has afflicted the industry (“A Mental Mistake,” Dec. 21).
Perhaps more individuals in the press will have the fortitude to step forward and acknowledge their mistakes.

If Cillizza had reported accurately on President Biden’s mental condition at the time, perhaps 13 more US military personnel would still be alive today.
I feel an even greater sorrow for the 13 families who lost loved ones in Afghanistan.
By failing to portray Biden’s true mental state, Cillizza and his colleagues share culpability for those tragic deaths.

Democrats, particularly in the media, insisted there was nothing unusual about President Biden’s incoherence and physical limitations throughout his time in office.
They have now confirmed what many discerning people recognized all along.
The Democrats and their media affiliates orchestrated the most significant political deception in our nation’s history, propping up an individual unfit for leadership.
