In his final UN speech, Joe Biden’s legacy of crime at home and war abroad comes into sharp focus

In 1980, The Boston Globe published an editorial about a speech by President Jimmy Carter with a headline that read “Mush from the wimp.” This headline appeared in more than 150,000 copies of the paper before being corrected.

Reflecting on that headline, I watched Joe Biden’s UN speech and saw similarities beyond just another weak speech from a president. Biden now rivals Carter as one of the worst American presidents, both being one-term Democrats facing domestic inflation and disorder.

On the global stage, both presidents treated American power as a problem, leading to mayhem and aggression. While Carter was constrained by moral imperatives, Biden’s family profited from selling his name to foreign entities, including adversaries.

Their lack of confidence in leading the nation forward led to their electoral defeat. Details may differ, but the outcome remains the same.

Denial Continues

Biden’s UN speech indicates he is still in denial. His attempt to create a positive legacy out of rampant failure falls flat. The nation and the world are worse off now, and Biden’s inability to acknowledge reality is a stark contrast to his proclaimed optimism.

His chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan and its aftermath, including the deaths of 13 service members, are brushed off in a misleading manner. The consequences of his decisions, like the rise of despots and brutal restrictions on women, are ignored.

The world is in turmoil, and Biden’s delusional outlook does nothing to address the escalating crises.

Peace through Weakness

Biden’s pursuit of peace at the expense of confronting evil is evident in his policies. By weakening America’s position and military, he has emboldened aggressors like Putin and Iran. His handling of the border crisis, the rise in crime, and excessive spending further highlight his failures.

His administration’s politicization of the Department of Justice, including the prosecution of Trump, marks a troubling departure from past norms. Instead of uniting the country as promised, Biden has fueled division and targeted his political opponents.

A Legacy of Division

History will likely remember Biden’s tenure for its mishandling of crises, partisan pursuits, and divisive tactics. As he prepares to leave office, the hope is for a return to unity and a resolution to the turmoil he has exacerbated.
