Joy Reid’s Biden COVID update promotes Trump shooter conspiracy theory

When we advised MSNBC to keep Joy Reid off the air for a while to stop her from saying totally unhinged things about Trump and Republicans, we were dead right!

Consider her deranged remark during her network’s Republican-convention coverage about the recent attempt on Trump’s life: The former prez “is an elderly man who, for whatever reason, was given nine seconds to take an iconic photo op during an active shooter situation. Weird situation, we’ll figure that out one day.”

Clearly implying the whole thing was a setup, which is as tinfoil-hat as it gets: open, baseless conspiracy theory.

MSNBC host Joy Reid promoted a baseless conspiracy theory about the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. MSNBC

How can she engage in gutter insanity like that and still have a job at a major media outlet?

Oh, right: She’s a hard lefty!

As nuts as Reid has been in the past (remember how she claimed hackers had edited archived copies of her old blog posts to add in homophobic content?), she’s really outdone herself.

And that wasn’t even the only totally crazy thing she said during the segment.

Reid also claimed that Biden getting over his COVID case would be the “exact same thing” as Trump miraculously surviving an assassin’s bullet.

Let’s be perfectly clear.

There are zero, repeat zero similarities between beating COVID and almost being murdered by a lunatic with a rifle.

For starters: COVID, last we checked, isn’t animated by free-floating evil or madness.

It’s a virus, incapable of thought and lacking agency.

Also, many people can treat it with bed rest, Tylenol and hydration.

That’s just a bit less true for a bullet through the ol’ cerebellum.

Then there’s the fact that Biden didn’t get COVID because the Secret Service totally, utterly, catastrophically fell down on the job.

MSNBC’s stuck with Reid even as she’s grown ever more deranged.

Will it do anything at all now that she’s approved fully certifiable?
