Mayor, demand President to stop the migrant flood and call it the “Biden cuts”
Mayor Adams cautioned on Tuesday that the migrant crisis will become more apparent in New York City as newcomers who want to sleep on the streets have the right to do so.
However, he still hesitates to directly blame President Biden for the city’s misery.
When questioned about migrants refusing to relocate to new shelters, the mayor’s response was, “Believe it or not, there are migrant and asylum seekers who are saying, ‘We want to sleep on the streets,’ and we cannot stop them.”
Furthermore, he stated, “I want New Yorkers to understand that. Our goal is to not have people sleeping on the street. We don’t want to turn into those cities” like Chicago, where migrants are sleeping in police stations.
This seems like a threat to the citizens of New York City. It’s important for him to clarify who is really at fault for this situation, as well as for his plans to reduce the NYPD to address the financial crisis.
From the beginning, Adams has resisted directly blaming the president.
All he has done is call for a vague “decompression strategy” and has appealed to Biden for funding 36 times, as reported by The Post.
Biden has rejected the mayor’s requests each time.
This has left the city spending $12 billion on over 65,000 migrants in its care, and considering reducing services to cover those expenses.
We believe he should find savings elsewhere and not cut the NYPD, but that’s a separate editorial.
Whatever cuts he decides on, he should continuously refer to them as “the Biden cuts” – because that’s what they are.
This president effectively opened the border and has not taken action to change those laws, despite claiming that he is simply following the laws.
It is illogical to admit millions of “asylum seekers” who mostly do not have a legitimate asylum case, yet Biden refuses to acknowledge the consequences in New York or elsewhere.
The least the mayor can do is to start attaching Biden’s name to the cost that New Yorkers have to bear, because otherwise, they will be known as “the Adams cuts.”
