“The anti-Israel set is right about something for once: it is unconscionable that Rafah has been turned into a warzone,” thunders Brendan O’Neill at Spiked. But “who hid the machinery of war among the women and children of Rafah, knowing full well bloodshed would ensue?”
Hamas, which “turned this former ‘safe zone’ into one of the least safe zones on Earth. Nothing captures the ruthlessness and cynicism of these Islamofascists better than the cruel fate befalling Rafah right now.”

Culture critic: ‘Equity’ Is the New Marxism
Nothing’s “more disappointing than a message from an institution I otherwise liked, polluted by the language of Marxism,” laments Joe Lonsdale on his Substack. “And there’s no quicker tell than the use of ‘equity,’ the elevation of which over ‘equality’ represents almost perfectly the line between aspirational liberalism and proto-Communism.”
If an institution brags of its commitment to equity, “odds are” it’s been “conquered by bad ideas.”
Kamala Harris showed how “equity” is a new form of Marxism, arguing in 2020 that “equitable treatment means we all end up at the same place.”
That, notes Lonsdale, spells the end of merit, a threat to civilization.
“If you’re not on the side of the incompetent commies, then stop supporting organizations that parrot terrible ideas like ‘equity.’ ”
Liberal: Don’t Count GOP Senate Candidates Out
Though “Donald Trump leads across the board,” in battleground state polling, The Liberal Patriot’s Nate Moore points out that “GOP candidates for the US Senate” trail Democrats “by considerable margins” in several swing states.
Crucially, “Trump and Biden are about tied,” while “Democratic Senate candidates hold roughly 20-point leads across the battlegrounds” — reasonable, given Biden’s weakness with “certain core Democratic constituencies.”
Yet looking at “vote share rather than margin offers a more comprehensive picture of the race,” and suggests many potential GOP voters now poll as undecided.
“This is not to say Senate results will perfectly match presidential results, but as Election Day draws closer, expect the GOP to narrow their deficits in key Senate races.”

Chief Justice John Roberts “was right to let Justice [Samuel] Alito respond for himself” after “Sens. Dick Durbin and Sheldon Whitehouse” wrote to Roberts demanding that “Alito recuse himself from hearing cases related to the 2020 election or Donald Trump,” cheer The Wall Street Journal’s editors.
“As the Senators know, the Court’s code stipulates that individual Justices make their own recusal decisions.”
“Their complaint is that a pair of flags flown at Justice Alito’s homes suggest partiality. But the Justice explains in some detail that the decision to fly the two flags were made by his wife,” and a recusal was unwarranted.
“Congratulations to Justice Alito for responding with cool reason to an unreasonable demand. And to the Chief Justice for respecting the Court’s code of conduct.”
Education beat: Stealth Indoctrination
“College students will only get more radical — but not for the reasons you might think,” warns John Tillman at the Washington Times. Schoolkids are being steered “toward hard-left media content” and set up “for a life of leftist activism.”
The American Federation of Teachers partnered with NewsGuard to ensure that students aren’t misled by “dubious” news sources, and “in practice, it discriminates against right-of-center media.”
In NewsGuard, the AFT “found a partner to help indoctrinate students in a far-left worldview.” Absent steps “to get liberal bias out of public education, the consequences will be severe.” “Imagine how much worse things will be when today’s high school students, trained to believe that The New York Times and NPR are oracles of truth, find themselves on the college campus.”
