Trump Reinforces Intentions to ‘Take Gaza’ During Meeting with King Abdullah of Jordan | World News
Donald Trump has reaffirmed US intentions regarding Gaza during a meeting with Jordan’s King Abdullah II at the White House.
This discussion followed Trump’s statement that he would suspend aid to Jordan, Egypt, and other Arab nations if they did not accept individuals displaced from Gaza.
King Abdullah expressed his “steadfast position” on X post-news conference, stating his stance is “against the displacement of Palestinians.”
He noted that Jordan, which already hosts millions of Palestinians, would accept 2,000 children who are suffering from cancer or other illnesses.
Regarding the acceptance of additional Gazans, he emphasized the importance of a solution that benefits “everyone” – including Americans, “the people in the region,” and Jordanians.
Nevertheless, the King remained silent while Mr Trump reiterated his strategy to displace two million Palestinians, labeling it a “very small number of people.”
Mr. Trump also expressed his belief that “parcels of land” in Jordan, Egypt, and elsewhere would provide Palestinians with a place to live “happily and very safely.”
“They only want to remain in the Gaza Strip because they lack other alternatives; they’ve never experienced anything else,” Mr. Trump stated.
“They are facing fatalities at rates unprecedented in history – no region is as perilous as the Gaza Strip.”
He asserted – contra to Gazans’ claims – that “not one person” desires to stay in Gaza.
When confronted with the prevalent opinion among international law experts that his plan could be seen as ethnic cleansing, Mr. Trump responded: “We are relocating them to a beautiful location.”
However, Trump seemed to soften his prior warning about halting aid to nations that declined to accept people from Gaza.
“Well, I don’t want to say that… we don’t need to resort to threats, I truly think we’re above that,” he remarked.
In the same conference, Mr. Trump proclaimed that the US will not purchase Gaza but will “simply have it.”
“We don’t need to purchase anything; there’s nothing to acquire,” he asserted.
“It’s a war-torn area; we will maintain control over it, we are going to take it… Gaza as it stands has seen civilization erased. It is poised for significant economic development.”
He did not clarify how this would be achieved without utilizing US taxpayer funds.

“We are going to manage it very effectively, and in due time we will see substantial economic progress,” he asserted, promising “peace in the Middle East.”
“With the United States overseeing that territory… true stability in the Middle East is within reach for the first time.”
“The Palestinians currently residing in Gaza will find themselves in a beautiful new location.”
“They will live in safety – free from the fear of being killed, murdered, or displaced every decade.”
Trump mentioned that he is 99% confident he can negotiate an agreement with Egypt.
