Alleged Gunman and Two Others Dead in Toronto Office Shooting
A tragic event unfolded in North Toronto on June 17 when a dispute at a financial business resulted in a shooting that claimed the lives of three adults, including the suspected shooter, leading to lockdowns at a nearby daycare and school.
Detective Sergeant Alan Bartlett of the Toronto Police revealed that the incident occurred in a commercial building in the Don Mills neighborhood, but details regarding the identities of the deceased were not disclosed as next of kin were yet to be notified.
Bartlett stated, “We believe that the individual responsible for the shooting is among the deceased.”
The police responded to reports of gunshots around 3:25 p.m. at the commercial building, finding two men and one woman dead upon arrival.
It was suggested that a financial transaction might have instigated the tragic event as four individuals were inside the building during the incident.
The altercation was believed to be connected to the business in the building, Bartlett added.
While the nearby daycare and school were placed on lockdown following the shooting, Bartlett reassured that the children were safe inside the building and were later reunited with their parents.
The Toronto Police Emergency Task Force ensured public safety, and Bartlett clarified that there was no direct access between the commercial offices and the daycare or school.
The Toronto Police Service stated that more information regarding the incident would be disclosed on June 18.
