Bus accident in Southern Turkey results in 10 fatalities and 39 injuries



ANKARA, Turkey—Reports from officials in Turkey indicate that a tragic accident occurred on a highway in southern Turkey, resulting in the death of at least 10 individuals and leaving 39 others injured. The incident took place in the Province of Mersin late on Sunday, where a passenger bus lost control in heavy rain and collided with two cars in the opposite lane. Subsequently, a truck crashed into all three vehicles, as confirmed by Governor Ali Hamza Pehlivan during a press briefing.

Emergency services swiftly transported the injured individuals to nearby hospitals, with at least eight of them reported to be in critical condition, according to the state-run Anadolu Agency. The intercity bus involved in the crash was carrying 28 passengers and was en route from the city of Diyarbakir in the southeast to Adana in the south of the country.
