Experience Excitement on Canada’s Tallest Suspension Bridge this Summer

For those seeking an exhilarating summer adventure suitable for all ages, Golden in British Columbia provides a chance to experience the mountains from a unique perspective—or two.

The region is home to Canada’s highest suspension bridge, situated above a canyon surrounded by the Columbia Valley. Guests can admire the Rocky and Purcell mountain ranges, and the bridges and trails are accessible to all, as stated on the website.

Golden Skybridge features a 130-meter-high and 150-meter-long highest suspension bridge. The second bridge measures 80 meters in height and 140 meters in length.

The Skybridge area offers various other activities to get your adrenaline pumping, including a zipline, rock wall, and a mountain rollercoaster.

Zipline

Ride across the canyon on a 1,000-foot zipline that elevates you 500 feet in the air. The adventure offers views of the rushing river and waterfall directly below. You don’t have to enjoy this thrill alone—bring along family and friends with four zipline tracks available.

Climbing Wall

A 28-foot rock climbing wall provides a fun challenge for individuals of all ages with easy, moderate, and difficult routes. Compete with others by racing to reach the top on the six available spots on the wall.

Railrider Mountain Coaster

Celebrating the area’s railway history, the coaster takes riders on a kilometer-long journey through the trees and mountain terrain. The thrilling ride descends 240 feet or 73 meters, navigating curves and turns along the canyon’s edge in approximately five minutes.

Axe Throwing

Test your accuracy and strength with a game of axe throwing, available for individuals 16 and older in the designated area. Compete in challenges with four lanes to see who can hit the target with hatchets best.

Canyon Edge Challenger Course

Walk suspended 40 feet in the air across the canyon in the ultimate test of bravery. Choose from three different courses, including one designed for children.

Canyon Swing

Daredevils can free fall over the canyon’s edge while attached to a bungee cord. As the bungee cord takes hold, riders can swing and soar over the rugged landscape below.

If heights aren’t your preference, Golden Skybridge offers a range of other activities such as food and drinks from The Village, a treetop play park for kids, and various viewing areas within the park without having to cross the bridge.

Live musical performances and night markets will be held throughout the summer as part of the admission.

Cost

Admission is $45 for adults and $35 for children. Adventure passes are available to experience the roller coaster, zipline, and challenger course. The adult pass costs $94, while children’s pass is $84. The coaster pass grants access to the bridges and coaster ride for $70 for adults and $60 for children. Separate admission for the canyon swing is $149 for solo rides and $99 for tandem.

Related Stories

Visitors with adventure passes, coaster passes, or participating in the Giant Canyon swing are advised to wear closed-toe and closed-heel shoes. Sandals, crocs, and flats are not permitted.

Outside food is not allowed inside the park. Picnic tables are available just outside the park for those who prefer to bring their own food.
