Governor General Calls on Canadians to Prioritize Their Mental and Physical Well-being
Gov. Gen. Mary Simon is urging Canadians to prioritize their mental health just like they do their physical health as they get ready for the upcoming year.
In her New Year’s message, Simon reflects on the inspiring individuals she met in 2024.
She commends them for their efforts in enhancing their communities, preserving nature, fostering connections between cultures, and amplifying the voices of the marginalized.
Simon calls on people to continue building a more inclusive world and sustainable environment for Canada’s children.
She has invited Canadians to share their hopes for the future, and pledges to share the responses in the days to come.
Simon reaffirms her dedication to collaborating with individuals to advance climate initiatives, promote reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, and celebrate Canada’s diversity.
“This holiday season, take care of yourself. Spend time with your loved ones. Prioritize your mental health just as you do your physical health,” stated Simon in her written message. “Let’s rejuvenate ourselves and continue progressing together.”
