Headmaster Critical of Vaccines Outlines Legal Argument Against School
Mike Fairclough is pursuing legal action against his former employers for constructive dismissal, alleging harassment and discrimination based on his philosophical beliefs.
Having served 20 years at state-funded West Rise Junior School in Eastbourne, Mike Fairclough resigned in November 2022 after facing investigation by the council on three occasions.
Despite being cleared of misconduct in each instance, Mr. Fairclough felt compelled to resign when East Sussex County Council would not guarantee an end to further investigations against him.
Represented by civil liberties barrister Paul Diamond, with the support of the Free Speech Union, Mr. Fairclough intends to present his case at a tribunal later this year.
The father-of-four indicates that he expressed his concerns in a mild manner, deeming it his professional duty to oppose the COVID-19 vaccination rollout for children, asserting that it was also his legal obligation.
His legal battle stems from his belief in critical thinking, which he argues should be protected under the law as a philosophical belief, akin to religious beliefs.
Mr. Fairclough’s stance on the risk-benefit analysis of children’s vaccines and his commitment to safeguarding drive his actions, emphasizing that clarity on these matters is crucial.
