Japan Tries Again to Launch Radar Satellite Following Previous Year’s Mishap

Launching its third H3 flagship rocket, Japan’s space agency JAXA is sending the $200 million radar satellite ALOS-4 into space at 12 p.m. JST on July 1 (11 p.m. ET on June 30) from Tanegashima in Japan. This launch is a reattempt after the first H3 flight last year resulted in the manual destruction and loss of another state-funded satellite.
