Report: Chinese Police Stations in Canada Allegedly Part of Repression Operation, According to CSIS
Canada’s intelligence agency, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), has revealed that Chinese police stations in Canada are part of a network used by the Chinese regime to track down high-level targets abroad and suppress dissent. This information was disclosed in recently released records obtained by La Presse through the access to information regime and reported on Aug. 21. According to the CSIS security bulletin, it is believed that these Chinese police stations, established without the Canadian government’s approval, serve the mission of aiding the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) in finding, surveilling, and harassing individuals based in Canada who are targets of the Fox Hunt operation. This operation is a long-standing international campaign focused on repression and combating corruption. The CSIS bulletin’s official translation was released on Dec. 2, 2022.
