Summit on Airline Accessibility Attracts Advocates and Executives
According to the federal government, Canada’s airline industry is committed to developing an improved intake form for travelers with disabilities.
A summit held in Ottawa on May 9 brought together disability advocates, government officials, and airline industry representatives to discuss enhancing accessibility.
The summit, which was announced in March following testimonies from airline executives at the House transport committee, highlighted the challenges faced by people with disabilities when interacting with airlines.
Advocates at the summit urged airline executives to effectively implement disability initiatives to promote inclusivity.
While airline representatives shared success stories, they also recognized the necessity for improved data-sharing and standardized procedures within the industry.
