Emerson Poll Shows Trump Ahead of Biden by 3 Points in Wisconsin

According to the latest Emerson College Polling/The Hill survey, former President Donald Trump is leading President Joe Biden by 3 points in the swing state of Wisconsin for the 2024 presidential election.

Trump has the support of 45% of voters, while Biden has 42%, and 12% are undecided, as reported by Emerson College Polling.

Biden has seen a decrease of 3 points in support since January, while Trump’s support has increased by 1 point.

In the 2020 presidential election, Biden won Wisconsin with 51.3% of the vote against Trump’s 46.9%.

Back in 2016, Trump won the state over Hillary Clinton by a narrow margin of 47.2% to 46.5%.

Both Trump and Biden are currently the front-runners for their party’s nomination in the 2024 presidential election.

According to Spencer Kimball, Executive Director of Emerson College Polling, “Independent voters in Wisconsin are leaning towards President Biden over Trump, with 41% to 35% support.”

“Voters under 30 are evenly split between Trump (39%) and Biden (37%), with 25% undecided,” Kimball added.

When third-party candidates are included, Trump’s lead grows to 4 points. The breakdown is as follows: Trump (41%), Biden (37%), Robert Kennedy Jr. (7%), Cornel West (1%), Jill Stein (1%), and 13% undecided.

The top issues for Wisconsin voters include the economy (31%), threats to democracy (13%), immigration (11%), healthcare (10%), education (7%), housing affordability (7%), crime (7%), and abortion access (7%).

“Voters who prioritize the economy are more inclined towards Trump over Biden, with 57% to 24% support, while those concerned about threats to democracy favor Biden over Trump, with 83% to 14%,” noted Kimball.

Concerns about Biden’s age are raised by 62% of voters, while Trump’s criminal indictments raise doubts for 56% of voters.

Currently, only 38% of Wisconsin voters approve of President Biden’s job performance, with 53% disapproving.

In a hypothetical U.S. Senate election between Democrat Sen. Tammy Baldwin and Republican Eric Hovde, Baldwin leads with 46% to Hovde’s 39%, while 15% are undecided.

The Emerson College Polling/The Hill Wisconsin survey was conducted from Feb. 20-24 among 1,000 registered voters, with a margin of error of plus/minus 3 percentage points.
