Former Trump campaign aide and author Rick Gates has accused the Biden administration of “shifting the narrative” to cover up President Joe Biden’s previous denials of knowledge or involvement in his son Hunter’s business dealings. Gates made these comments in response to new information emerging from a court hearing involving Hunter Biden’s plea deal. He claimed that the revelations were enough to warrant an impeachment inquiry against President Biden, with the possibility of impeachment charges increasing as more is learned. Gates drew parallels to the Mueller investigation into Hillary Clinton’s alleged involvement in Russia collusion, suggesting that the truth only emerged when her aides were compelled to testify. He also commented on a judge putting a hold on proceedings in Hunter Biden’s case, calling for U.S. Attorney David Weiss to be questioned on how the deal was reached. Gates suggested that additional charges could be filed against former President Trump, with pressure being applied to induce others to “flip” against him. He claimed that the meeting between Trump’s lawyers and special counsel Jack Smith’s team indicated that an indictment related to the January 6 events at the Capitol would be released soon.
