State Department personnel demand stronger actions against Israel

In private meetings at the State Department, employees expressed a strong desire for harsher actions against Israel, as reported by Jewish Insider.

One foreign service officer with extensive Middle East experience revealed, “It was overwhelmingly calls for more sanctions and punishment against Israel, including from respected individuals. Some even unrelated to the conflict advocated for stronger measures against Israel.”

Tensions have escalated following Hamas’ attack on Israel and the subsequent conflict in Gaza, leading to resignations of officials at the State Department and dissent against President Biden’s support for Israel.

With Iran’s direct attack on Israel, the conflict has expanded, resulting in retaliatory actions by the Israel Defense Forces.

The United States and United Kingdom imposed a new round of sanctions on Iran in response to the recent attacks, targeting individuals and entities involved in drone manufacturing and other military activities.

The lack of internal reinforcement of policies and understanding of Israel’s challenges, particularly with Iran’s involvement, has been criticized within the State Department.

Reports also surfaced linking members of an Iran-controlled influence network to multiple visits to the Biden White House, raising concerns about potential influence on policy decisions.

A spokesperson for the State Department emphasized the importance of hearing diverse opinions from employees and encouraged them to express their views through appropriate channels.
