Plane Crashes into California Furniture Factory, Leaving Two Dead and 18 Injured | US News
Tragically, two individuals have lost their lives and 18 others sustained injuries when a small aircraft crashed through the roof of a furniture factory in Southern California, where a workforce of at least 200 was present at the time.
The incident occurred less than two minutes after the plane departed from Fullerton Municipal Airport in Orange County.
A representative from Fullerton police indicated that it remains uncertain whether the deceased were occupants of the plane or individuals on the ground.
CCTV footage captured the moment the plane was angled sideways as it collided with the structure, resulting in an explosion and a significant plume of black smoke.
Among the injured, 10 individuals were transported to hospitals, while eight received on-site treatment and were released.
The Federal Aviation Administration reported that the aircraft involved was a single-engine Van’s RV-10, designed to accommodate four passengers.
In a related incident, another four-seat plane crashed into a tree half a mile from the airport last November while attempting an emergency landing shortly after take-off.
Fortunately, both occupants on that flight sustained only minor injuries.
